On being a servant of the Most High (Luke 1:26-56)

What a privilege it is to be a servant of the Most High, to have a dream or vision of what God wants to accomplish through you!  What a privilege it is to be a servant of the living God, right here, right now, in the midst of your everyday, ordinary life experiences.  You were not chosen because of your job, your skills, your financial status, your marital status or where you live. 

God has chosen you to be His servant and has filled you with the Holy Spirit because He created you, because He loves you, because He died for you. Choose today, like Mary, to glorify the Lord from the depths of your soul and in your spirit to rejoice in God your Savior.

You are not alone as God’s servant. God is going to bring people into your life who share your vision and passion. So encourage each other just as Barnabas encouraged Paul. You will see the Lord fulfill his promises to you, just as he fulfilled his promises to Joseph as he brought Joseph from his fathers house, to Potiphar’s house, to prison, and finally to the palace.

Have confidence and peacefully rest in the assurance that ‘no word from God will ever fail’. It doesn’t matter what other people say, or think or do for all of this is initiated by God. As you continue to serve Him you will see the Mighty one do great things for you and you will see his arm do mighty deeds for those around you. You will personally know his mercy, even as you have heard about his mercy to previous generations.

         … continue to trust him and to worship him,
            … rejoice always …
