God has heard your prayers. Don’t be afraid! Don’t worry! Not only has God heard your prayers, but God is going to answer them. He will answer them in his way and in his time, to accomplish his purposes. And when he does, it will be in a way that will bring joy and delight to you. Know this: the answer to your prayer is not just for you alone. God’s answer will cause many others to rejoice. God’s answer to your prayer will in some way reveal His glory and majesty to you and to others as well so that God can perform a miracle in their lives also.
Did you know you are in good company if right now you are finding it hard to believe that God will answer your prayers? Remember the story of Zechariah, a priest, burning incense in the temple who was so wrapped up in his situation that he could not comprehend the miracle occurring in front of his eyes – An angel of the Lord standing in front of him, telling him his prayers were answered. Or what about Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciples who could not believe that Jesus had risen from the dead? And there are many other similar stories in the Bible.
Rest in God! The day is coming when you will see God at work in this situation, and then you too will declare from the depths of your heart, with joy “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them” (Luke 1:68). And at that time your neighbours will know that the Lord has been with you.
So ‘do not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but be strengthened in your faith and give glory to God, being fully persuaded that God has the power to do what he has promised’ (Rom 4:20-21).
